Artist's Comments

This piece has been on my hard drive for awhile, continually evolving over its span of creation. It was rather vexing at times to be honest. At the end, I even tried making my own paper crane for reference. Much to my dismay, I realized that I should probably avoid paper crafts. My crane ended up looking like a crown and it may or may not have been promptly placed on a cat's head. Alas, it arrived here, paper crown cranes and all, for you to enjoy, crit, and/or ignore :) I'm not planning on spending any more time on it, but advice is always welcome and appreciated.

I lack the crafts talent as well, which is a little depressing since some people can just whip up the neatest things.

Regardless, I really like this.

Very nice, and yes, very peaceful. I like the detail on her shirt, and the cranes look very nice! ~NobleXenon does origami and has some cranes in his gallery, in case you ever need references again! ;)

Drawing is a performance; an artist is an actor who is not limited by his body, only his ability and, perhaps, experience.

My roomate loves to make paper cranes so they are all over our room. :XD: But alas, I also am unable to do the paper crafts. ;__;

Its a beautiful piece of work you have here. I love the concept and the technique. Very lovely.

That looks really impressive! It is almost realistic!

The cranes look great, so does her face, though its a very... expressionless expression. I'd say that the only drawbacks I see in this picture are the fact that there is clearly much more detail/attention paid to the face than to the body or rest of the image. If it was all one way or the other, it'd jive more. The other is the stiffness of the figure. Not terribly so, but a little less than a mad fiddler should have.

And all is one.

Wow... it's so beautiful! SO much atmosphere... so many cranes. It's really great! And your colouring style has never looked better.

Looks nice.
I don't think the biggest crane fits in though. It looks like it's got a bit of an outline, and that give it a "pasted on" look unlike the other cranes.
